Speaking at the JTUCC labour parliament, the new president criticized the government for not being able to implement Social Security Act and this failure has impacted to the temporary, contract, and daily wage workers who are working without social security. He asked, “Are these workers listed in the contributory social security fund? Are these workers getting minimum wage?” He further added that the Article 145 of Labour Law has put the workers into complete insecurity. Despite ongoing anti-labour activities in the country, no industry, enterprise has been shutdown or has faced strike. The silence of the large mass of workers should not be taken as workers’ weakness, he reiterated.
