27 Nov, 2019, Kathmandu: All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions (ANTUF) asks Nepal government to play effective role to implement social security scheme.
Addressing the congregation organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of 2nd Social Security Day 2076, the Acting President, Jagat Bahadur Simkhada expressed his dissatisfaction towards the lack of employers’ commitment towards implementation of social security scheme.
In the pretext of many more labour friendly provisions being curtailed in so called law reform process, Mr. Simkhada drew government’s attention to direct concerned entities to effective implement the scheme thereby building effective monitoring mechanism gradually addressing the occupational security of large mass of workers across the nation.
Mr. Simkhada also asks government to strongly take needful action and initiation to bring all the enterprises in the framework of social security scheme.
Similarly, address the gathering, Deputy Prime Minister as well as Defence Minister, Ishwor Pokhrel stressed on the need of commitment from employers to implement the scheme. Likewise, Labour Minister Rameshwor Ray Yadav expressed his commitment to gradually bring all the workers from informal sector as well self-employed workers in the domain of social security scheme.
The program was concluded with commitment from concerned stakeholders to implement the social security scheme.
