8 Nov, 2019, Kathmandu: All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions (ANTUF) conducted a Two Day Strategic Planning Meeting for central and province leaders of agriculture sector on 6-7 Nov. 2019 at Hotel Garden Home, Thamel, Kathmandu.
The meeting was convened with a presentation on summary report of the Mapping/Research on agriculture workers in 5 provinces conducted last year. The presentation was made basically to serve as reference to form Strategy for agriculture workers for next 2 years. It was followed by discussion where 30 participants apprised about the outstanding issues of agriculture workers and their possible addresses. They also reviewed and updated the strategies continuing from the first phase of the project last year, and chalked out various strategies based on SWOT analysis tool.
Every year about half million work force enters into labour market in Nepal but their employment security is hardly discussed in parliament.
